Buying or selling property can be difficult and one of the most important parts of the whole transaction will be the real estate agent. You will need to trust them to be loyal and honest because they are walking you though one the biggest transactions in your life. It is always a good idea to interview the agent before you actually start looking for property with them. If you are listing your home, you can also do the same thing. You might ask them how long they have been in business and do they have a partner they work with. That is always important because you may need help when the agent is not available and often real estate problems can’t wait.
You should have an agent that only represents your side of the transaction. In most states it is possible for them to represent both the buyer and seller. This is usually not recommended in most cases. Your agent can make the difference in the way the deal will go because they will be presenting your offer to the seller. It is their job to convince the seller that you are a good buyer and they should accept you offer. Some agents are better at this then others. Usually an agent with a little bit of experience will be able to be more helpful.
